Is it permissible for Rehman to add a middle name such as Abdur?

I am married to a man who’s surname is rehman. is this appropriate and if not, would it be fine if he adds a middle name such as abdur..?

Answer

(Fatwa: 199/199=M)

Rahman is attributive name of Allah. One should not name oneself as ?Rahman? only, but it should be prefixed with ?Abd? e.g. Abdur Rahman.
