Answer

(Fatwa: 437/437=M1429)

The work which have been practised by the Prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم)) punctually but has been forsaken occasionally is called sunnah muakkadah. Abandoning it for no reason is a sin because it is tantamount to overlooking the sunnah of the Prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم)). The Hadith says: من رغب عن سنتي فليس مني

But if a person forsakes the sunnah deeming it ordinary, then it is feared to be infidelity. But yes, there is no sin if anytime the sunnah is missed without any intention or is given up due to some excuse.
