Is it permissible in Islam and Shariah to lie to get a better salary or job?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Assalaamualaikum,1. Now a days most of the companies will give/offer salary based on his previous salary. For that we have to say lie that we are getting more than what we are getting.then only he will get the better offer. 2. most of the graduate after completing his studies will not get job soon, some cases it will take around 2 years, this is because most of the companies ask for experience. for the if the same graduate who graduated 2 years back have to say lie. he will get the based on this lie and he is able perform the job. Please suggest me what islam and shariah say’s about this matters.

Answer

(Fatwa: 1370/1370=M/1430)

In Islam, it is unlawful and haram to tell lie. So lying for getting a job or increment in payment is not lawful. However, if one got a job by telling lie or his salary was increased, his income will not be termed haram if he is able to discharge his duty and he fulfils his duties punctually. The income will be lawful but telling lie will be sinful.
