Can you pray in a dark room?

(1) Is it permissible to offer prayer in the dark room, I mean to say when there is no light in the room? (2) Can a woman offer prayer at a place that is open to the sky (courtyard)?

Answer

(Fatwa: 270/210/B=1433)

(1) Yes, it is right to offer salah in a dark room.
(2) It is right for a woman to offer salah under open sky (courtyard). However it is better for her to offer salah inside closed room. It carries more reward.
