Is it permissible in Islam for a Masjid to be run by an Imam and a Management Committee which has a Chairman, a Secretary and a Treasurer?

Answer

(Fatwa: 451/445=M)

Those who can protect to mosque and carry out mosque activities, it is undoubtedly permissible for them to run the mosque, rather it is better. Therefore, it is compulsory that the trustee or management committee are honest and sincere:

ولا یولی الا امین قادر بنفسہ او بنائبہ لان الولایۃ مقیدۃ بشرط النظر و لیس من النظر تولیۃ الخائن لانہ یخل بالمقصود (شامی: 6/528)
