Can husband and wife remarry if iddah period not expired, but no reconciliation?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I would like to know about talaq given by the husband to his wife only once and the iddah period is going to end within few days and if they do not reconcile before the iddah period can the husband remarry his wife under the Islamic law?

Answer

(Fatwa: 345-118/L=1433)

In case of one talaq, the husband will have the right to take his wife back until iddah. He can take her back within iddah. In case the iddah passed, then he can remarry her with her consent provided he did not give two talaqs before or after this one talaq.
