Is leasing a grain store to sell duplicates halal?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
We have a grain store and we have given it on lease for 11 months. We get Rs 8000/- every month. As this income is fixed is this halal or haram and can we do business of shoes and belts where in some products we sell are duplicate of original, is this halal if we sell by saying that this is a copy of the original.

Answer

(Fatwa: 1409/860/D=1432)

(1) You can give the place for storing grains on rent and it is also lawful to take its fixed rent.
(2) When you let your customer learn that it is duplicate (not original), then it is lawful for you to sell it and your income shall be lawful. But if it involves any other kind of deception then it is better to avoid it, for example the other shopkeeper takes it from you and sells it calling it original.
