What do the ‘ulama say about the excellence of Durood-e-Taj?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
What do the ‘ulama of Deen say in regard to the excellence, merits and proofs of Durood-e-Taj which is established among the majority of muslims. Is the recitation of this Durood and accepting its excellence and merits is established/proven by the Shariah ruling or not? Or is it Shirk? or Bid’a?

Answer

(Fatwa: 196/197=L)

The virtue and merit of Durood-e-Taj mentioned by ignorant Muslims is mere nonsense and baseless. The other duroods narrated in traditions are far better. The Durood-e-Taj contains some words leading to shirk (associating God with Allah), so it must not be recited. It has no base in Shariah.
