Do I still need to provide food/shelter for my adult children?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I have five children 2 sons and 3 daughters and a wife. Recently they all have become like disobedient and mannerless toward me and do not care about me. My question now is am I still responsible for their livelihood like providing food and shelter or leave them on their own. All my children are above 18 years of age. Do I still need to provide them food and shelter or can I ask them to go and live their own life. Please reply as this is very urgent matter.

Answer

(Fatwa: 1360/1089/B=1433)

It is the right of father to nourish their children till they are grown up. And it is also the right of father to marry all of them after they are adult. Then he can separate them and ask them to earn for their livelihood. You should not be so strict towards your children rather you should be polite for them, and then they shall listen to your talk. If you give up strictness they shall start obeying you and they shall not turn uncivilized.
