We live in North America(canada) and if any of our non muslim colleague died then how to condolence islamically. Mean to say as a member of your office team how to participate. Please reply in detail. Thanks

(Fatwa: 988/933=D/1429)

There is no harm in pronouncing a few words of condolence for solace and soothe. There is no objection in remembering any characteristic of the deceased i.e. human sympathy and moral goodness. However, it is not permitted to join the non-Islamic funeral customs and religious rituals non-Muslims.
