Can I talk to my fiancee and inlaws on the phone after engagement according to Islamic principles?

asalam alaikum , I have looked on to your website as very enlighting ,here i have some query,and wish u will clarify them by answering to my questions i will be greatful to u .the questions are as under : – 1)i am engaged for the last 5 months and will inshallah get married within 6 months,but now after that i wish to ask wether i can talk to my fiancee on phone?,and if i will talk will there be any islamic penalty i have to face? 2)can according to islamic principle talking to inlaws after engagement allowed ,inlaws to say my mother in law ,father in law,brother in law? hope u will clear my querys inshaallah. jazakallah kair.

Answer

(Fatwa: 1431/1195=L/1429)

It is not right to talk to one’s fianc?e before Nikah, it is sin and it must be avoided.

Except the mother in law, one can talk to brother and father in law.
