Is it halal to work in a company that provides credit ratings for financial documents?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Asslam Walaykum W Rahematullahe W Barkatuh, Hazrat My question is that I have recently joined a company which is in business of providing credit rating to the companies, and my job profile is to analyze various documents issued by financial institutions like notes, shares, debentures etc and bookmarking some information and maintaining it in excel sheet and sending it to rating team who rate this issue. The information contains the deal amount, orgnisation name, maturity date, Issue date which also contains interest part that how much interest this document bears. So the question is that is it Halal work or Haraam work. I heard a hadith in which it is mentioned that the recorder of interest is also the same as the giver and taker of the interest, but in this case I am not recording interest for the purpose of recovery here the purpose is to rate the issue that too I will not rate I will just forward this detail and Analyst in the rating team will rate. Kindly help me to understand the interest concept and plz answer my question.

Since the excel sheet you prepare contains interest, whether it is an analysis or detail, it bears the same ruling as writing account of interest. How much interest there will be in documents it depends on the account. In Hadith, those who write account of interest have been cursed like those who take interest, give interest and bear witness to it. Therefore, Muslims should avoid from such kinds of work and should strive to earn lawful living.
