Is it permissible to wear normal underwear under Ihram garments to avoid staining?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Assalam-o-alaikum WRWB, I am planning to go for Haj this year inshAllah but I have this medical condition where by I need to wear tight underwear (normal underwear) to avoid urine drops coming out (although I might leak in my underwear as well but less often than otherwise) in movements like in Prayers especially when I have to bend over like while doing sajda. This results in staining my outer clothes. Its easy to wash my clothing when I’m at home but when outside its a problem. Under these conditions is it allowed to wear normal underwear under the Ihram garment cuz otherwise it will stain not only my clothes but also my legs? If not what is the alternative solution? Jazak Allah Khair

Answer

(Fatwa: 855/552/H=1432)

It is unlawful to wear underwear in the state of ihram, but there is no harm if you tie up loincloth (langot).
