Is it right to charge extra and keep the remainder for yourself?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I am working as a passport agent i deal with two types of customer, one a regular customer who is ready to recive his passportin nomal procedure without giving an extra amount. The other type of customer is who needs his passport urgently for his personal matter is ready to pay extra amount to the concerned person. Here I charge them a extra amount and i pay some part of the amount to the concerned persons to get his passport urgently and he gets it. So my exact question is that the extra amount which is paid by me to the concerned persons on his behalf is right or wrong and the remaining amount is jayaz to me or not?

Answer

(Fatwa: 140/D=15/K)

When you take money from the customers as charge of your work (including the charges you give to the other people) and you have mentioned this thing clearly then you can take the remaining amount as your charges, otherwise if you take the additional amount from the customer in the name of the other people then it will unlawful to save and take the remaining amount.

Also, it is allowable to get the work done by giving bribe if the customer is in exigent and immediate need of the passport, otherwise giving bribe needlessly is unlawful.
