What does Markrooh mean?

Answer

(Fatwa: 1881/1760=D/1429)

Makrooh (undesirable) is the antonym of Mahboob (desirable). An action undesirable in the eye of Shariah is called makrooh. If the undesirability is of higher degree e.g. it deserves punishment by Hadith then it is Makrooh Tahrimi (undesirable to an extent of being haram), otherwise Makrooh Tanzihi which means: not better to do.

As per the Shariah, it is makrooh to call husband with his name:

قال في الدر: ویکرہ أن یدعو الرجل أباہ و أن تدعو المراۃ زوجھا بإسمھا (شامي 5:298)
