Is there a way for the couple to reconcile after the court’s decision of Khula?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Assalam.o.Alaikum, One of my friend had got married 1 year back. He and his wife’s families had some differences and the Girl and her family filed a case in civil court for Khula. Husband and his family did not attend to the case and the court gave one sided decision of Khula favour of the Wife. Now the wife has called the husband and wants to comeback to him, saying that her family forced and pressurized her to file the case of Khula. The court has given decision of confirmed Khula on 22nd of Jun 2008. My question: Is there any possibility they can Ruju (have settlement)? I’ll appreciate your quick response in this regard.

Answer

(Fatwa: 1339/1169=B/1429)

In Islamic Shariah, khula can take place with the consent of husband and wife. On what basis the court had given the ruling of khula, please furnish all details along with the court verdict, then we can have a say in the matter. It is better to contact local Ulama and Muftis.
