Is Tabligh an obligation upon Muslims and if so, what is its source?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
A certain scholar has been saying that tabligh is not an obligation on this ummah rather it is an opportunity Allah has given us to obtain reward. is tabligh an obligation? if so what is the source from which we conclude it’s obligation?

Tabligh has always been fardh on the Ulama of Ummah. There are proofs in the holy Quran and Hadith. It is not right to say that Almighty Allah has only provided this chance to earn reward.
