What is the ruling on Qasr Salah with respect to the following: (1) Minimum distance of travel to a destination from place of residence when Qasr becomes applicable? (2) Minimum and Maximum days of stay at that destination for which Qasr is applicable? (3) Fardh is 2 Rakah for every Salah as we know. Do we have to fulfil all the respective Rakahs for Sunnah prayers also for every Salah?
Answer
(Fatwa: 1842/1296/L=1432)
(1) Qasr (of Salah) shall be wajib after setting off for a jourmney of 77.25 or more.
(2) If one intends to stay for less than 15 days, qasr shall be wajib, while in case of intending to stay for more than 15 days one will have to offer full Salah.
(3) Yes, there is no qasr in Sunnah Salah.
