assalamu alaikum mufti saheb, i want to know whether i can pay zakaat every month i.e i calculate last years zakaath and i give the amount every month in part payment the following year is it allowed also i want to know whether i can give zakaath money to my wife’s sister who is a divorcee she is supported by her parents, she has a girl child , can i pay zakaath in the name of that child please answer quickly jazakhallah shakil ahmed
Answer
(Fatwa: 2137/H=644/th=1431)
(1) It is lawful for a sahib-e-nisab (one who possesses wealth equal to prescribed limit) to do so (paying zakah in instalment each month) there is no harm.
(2) If that divorced woman is entitled to receive zakah, you can give your zakah to her.
(3) It is also right to pay the zakah to a divorced woman’s daughter.
