Can Muslims donate blood/organs to non-Muslims/Red Cross?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I want to know what Islam says about donating blood or organs to someone and if Islam allows it, is it allowed to give blood or organs to a non-Muslim or an organization like Red Cross or any other non-Muslim organization. In my case I am living in United Kingdom so can I give blood or organs to an organization who needs it?

Answer

(Fatwa: 508/431/B=1433)

Human beings are honourable with all their organs. Almighty Allah has given us all these parts as a trust and we are not their owner. Hence it is not lawful for us to sell any of our organs or gift it. However, the scholars of Fiqh have allowed to donate the blood in severe compulsion when blood is not available and life of patient is in danger then it is allowable to donate blood in order to save the life.
