Is it permissible for men to do Umrah from Masjid-e-Aisha?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
asalamualaykum mufti sahab, One of my friends tells me that doing an umrah by wearing ahram from “masjid-e-Aisha” is permissible only for women folk and not for men. His explanation was that Nabi-e-Kareem Muhammad (Pbuh) asked aisha(radiallahu anha) to do umrah from “masjid-e-aisha” as she was sick during the time of Hajj, and her brother was not asked to do the same when he accompanied her. If this was permissible for men then Nabi-e-Kareem Muhammad (Pbuh)would have also asked him to do umrah from “masjid-e-aisha”. My friend also tells me that according to Imam Abu Hanifa Rahmatulla alayh, such umrah is permissible for men but is makruh. Please quote to the exact hadith in discussion and explanation as to how and why it is permissible for men and also comment on the views of my friend. Jazakallahukhaira.

Answer

(Fatwa: 1834/1721=D/1429)

If a Haji from outside Makkah goes to Makkah for performing Hajj or Umrah, then after performing Hajj or Umrah, he once again wants to do Umrah, as the people of Makkah can wear Ihram from Tan?eem (Masjid Aaisha), in the same way he can do Umrah having worn Ihram from Masjid Aaisha.

The Prophet (صلي الله عليه وسلم) allowed Hadhrat Aaisha (رضی اللہ عنھا) to do so, thus it is permission for all whether men and women. If you have any evidence (Hadith) for this persimmon to be special for Hadhrat Aaisha (رضی اللہ عنھا), you should provide it, or if you know that the Prophet (صلي الله عليه وسلم) stopped men from this, then also you should write it in details. People from outside of Makkah, intending Haj or Umrah must wear Ihram from miqaat out of Makkah, but when he has reached Makkah he can wear Ihram for Umrah from Tan?eem like the people of Makkah.

Note: You should ask your friend from where he has quoted Hadhrat Imam Abu Hanifa (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ) saying this.
