MY FIANCEE’S MOTHER HAD DIED WHEN SHE WAS SMALL. BUT THEN SHE WAS RAISED BY ANOTHER COUPLE (HER PATERNAL UNCLE AND AUNT). ARE HER FOSTER PARENTS MY IN LAWS?? AND IS HER FOSTER MOTHER MAHREM FOR ME?

Answer

(Fatwa: 1624/1288/L=1430)

The aunt and uncle of your fiancé will not be called father and mother in-law of you, and neither your aunt will be your mehram just for nourishing you.
