Is it halal to eat meat from hunters who say they’ve done zibah in a halal way?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
My question is that some hunters in our area bring pigeon and partridges (titar) to sell and they do zibah not in front of us, but they say that we have done zibah in halal way, but we do not know that whether they did it in halal way and sometime we think that may be the bird was dead and after they did zibah. Is it halal to eat this kind of meat? The hunters are Muslims.

Answer

(Fatwa: 61/24/L=1433)

It shall be lawful to eat those birds if those hunters are Muslims believing their words. Your doubt ‘that the bird might have been slaughtered after it was dead’ shall not be taken into consideration.
