(Fatwa: 1017/1017/M=1432)

Why do you want to divorce your wife? What is the reason? You must remember that before Allah the most abominable among lawful things is talaq. This is an act which pleases the devil. One should not give talaq except in inevitable circumstances. Yes, if one fears for trampling the rights and it is difficult to maintain the guidelines set by Shariah, and there is no way to maintain the relation between the husband and wife, then one can give talaq.
However, in case of talaq, it is not right for the woman to go out of home in the state of iddah (waiting period) without any need. If she has the problem of livelihood, she can go out of her home during day for as much time as needed.
It is not clear which amount is out of your capacity and what is the problem with the woman to work in iddah period.
