Is wearing a nose ring (nathni) or ornament compulsory for nikah according to Shariah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I would like to know is it necessary to wear nose ring (nathni) or ornament at the time of nikah. I have heard that it is compulsory to wear nath at the time of nikah. However my daughter is not in favour of wearing any type of ornaments or shingar at the time of nikah. I request to please give me the guidelines according to Shariah.

Answer

(Fatwa: 436/L=232/TL=1433)

It is not necessary to wear nose ring or jewellery at the time of nikah. The use of jewellery etc is for the husband so that he does not start disliking her, hence it is allowed to wear ornament and adorn oneself maintaining the Shariah limit. The Shariah has not described any particular type for jewellery and adornment.
