Is it permissible to tell my sister my savings but not my wife?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Some days ago my wife asked me how much savings (money) I have and I told her, upon knowing this number (which was fairly big) she told me that we should replace this one item with a new one as she did not like the old one. This old item was doing its purpose so I said no to her and concluded not to tell her my savings in future. However she keeps asking me for it and ends up with problems within us. My wife is a house wife, I try to take care of her in the best way possible, both in Deen & in Duniya. I give her a fixed amount every month for herself, I provide her the same quality of food & cloth that I use etc. I also have a elder sister who had helped me financially when I was in school, so I think it is OK for me to tell her what my savings are. But my wife asks me not to tell my savings to my sister. My question is “Can I not tell my wife about my savings but tell it to my sister?” Please reply so that we practise deen in this matter

As per the Shariah, it is not wajib to tell the sister. Thus in the question mentioned above, it is better not to tell the sister as well.
