How can one repent and seek forgiveness for a sin they keep repeating?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I have question related to salah. (1) If we are behind a Imam and we left some rakah and when imam finished salah so when should we stand up on first salam or we have to sit till imam completes both the salams. When should we stand up? (2) What is the niyah (intention) of Jumuah salah? I need all the niyah (intentions) i.e. fardh sunnah, nafl. What should we say in niyah (intention)? (3) We should do dua after completing our salah with imam or we can do our tasbihat and Ayatul Kursi and all? Which thing we should do first? I get less time for salah from my office. (4) If a person understood that he is doing sin and he is crying asking forgiveness, but again he does same things and again he cries? What should he do? He wants to marry that girl and the matter is related to love affair and he has spent 4 months in Allah’s path. Also he has beard. He is one of the zimmedar of our masjidwar jamah.

Answer

(Fatwa: 2197/H-925/TH=1432)

(1) One should stand when Imam starts turning for second salam.
(2) One should make intention for two rakah fardh, four rakah sunnah, two rakah nafl in his heart. It is enough. One can also do it verbally like “I intend for two rakah fardh/two rakah nafl/four rakahs sunnah”.
(3) He should join Imam in his short dua then read something else.
(4) If one does true and genuine taubah his sin is removed. Then if the sin is committed again then also he should do true and genuine taubah. If nikah is lawful and halal with that girl and it is proper then he should do nikah as soon as possible. And if nikah is not better with her then the wish for nikah with her should be given up.
