What is the ruling on Imams’ superiority over Prophets?

Assalam O Alaikum, Whatis the ruling about person/sect, who believe that their Imams are higher/superios in status than some/many of the Prophets? Is this belief kufar? Please answer with refernces from early scholars. JazakAllah

Answer

(Fatwa: 235/225=J)

Any person believing imams as superior than prophets is having a belief of kufr (infidelity). For details see: Shia Sunni Ikhtelaaf by Mufti Yusuf Ludhianwi.
