Is there a difference between hunting with a gun and traditional animal slaughter for determining halal status?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I would like to ask you that meat from hunting animal with shotgun(shikar)is halal or haram.if animal get died due to shotgun before zibah then this will b haram or halal.

Answer

(Fatwa: 476/476/M=1432)

If the prey dies after being shot and one does not find time to slaughter it, then the meat is not halal. But, it is halal if it is slaughtered as per the Shariah before it dies.
