Who benefits from the distribution of savings and house property?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I am a Central Government working woman. I have my husband, one son and one daughter, father, (six sisters, two brothers all married and settled). By the grace of Allah, I have my saving in my bank, provident fund and house properties in my name. But the house was bought from the contributions of my and husband’s money. My husband’s parents are not alive. He has three sisters and one brother (All married and settled). My husband is also having a shop in his name along with my son and a house in his and daughters name and some money in his bank account. Alhamdulillah, we have no loans to be paid. I would like to mention that all the properties were bought by the contributions from me and husband, all three husband, me and son and contribution from husband and son. I would like to ask how the assets in my name will be distributed after my death and how can it be in my life time taking into consideration my family (sisters, brothers and father)?

2. How my husband’s assets will be distributed in his lifetime and after his death taking into consideration his brothers and sisters.

Your question is untimely. As long as you are alive you are sole owner of your property and assets. None has any share in it and the heirs will get their shares after your death. So this question should be asked after your death. However, you should know that if your husband is alive at the time of your death then he will get fourth share, while your father will get sixth share and the remaining will be divided among your son and daughter as per the rule of “the male will get a share equal to that of two females.” In presence of your son, your brother and sister will get nothing. Similarly, suppose if the husband dies before you then you will get 8th share from his property while the rest will be divided among the sons and daughters and his brother and sister will get nothing in presence of son.
