How to distribute the property when one parent dies and leaves four children and one daughter?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
My father died and left 4 son’s 1 daughter 1 wife. How to distribute the property?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 670/585/M=6/1439)

In the above mentioned case, all the property of your deceased father shall be divided into 72 shares after paying due rights preceding inheritance. Out of the total, the widow of the deceased i.e. your mother shall get 9 shares, while 14-14 shares shall go to each brother (i.e. sons) while the sister (i.e. daughter) shall get 7 shares. The detail of Shariah division is as follows:

Wife:                1 x 09 = 09

Sons:                4 x 14 = 56

Daughter:          1 x 07 = 07

Total                   72        shares
