Tayammum is only permitted on things which are from the genera of the earth and it is not valid to do tayammum on such thing which is not from the genera of the earth. A wall which is painted with oil, if something was applied on the wall before painting it which was not from the genera of the earth and the colour which was mixed in the oil paint is also not from the genera of the earth then in such a case tayammum would not be valid on wall painted with oil.
فيجوز – التيمم – كحجر مدقوق أو مغسول وحائط مطين أو مجصص وأوان من طين غير مدهونة الخ (الدر المختار مع رد المتار ، كتاب الطهارة ، باب التيمم، 4061، ط: مكتبة زكريا ديوبند)، قوله: “غير مدهونة”: أو مدهونة بصبغ هو من جنس الأرض كما يستفاد من البحر (1: 258، ط: مكتبة زكريا ديوبند) كالمدهونة بالطفل والمغرة ، ط (1: 128، ط: مكتبة الاتحاد ديوبند) (رد المحتار).
