Dam needed for touching Hajr-e-Aswad during tawaf?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
When I went for umrah to Makkah and I was doing tawaf I touched Hajr-e-Aswad with my hand as I didn’t know that perfumed is applied to Hajr-e-Aswad. Since I touched it unknowingly, does I have to give dam that is do I have to sacrifice animal for that. If dam has to be given, I am going for umrah this year in-shaAllah, can I give dam for that.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 971/984/H=9/1438)

If the scent of perfume touched your hand then dam became wajib. And if it did not touch your hand then in this case though no dam is wajib but a long time had passed over it hence it is better when you visit Makkah again slaughter a goat with the intention of dam and distribute its meat among the poor and needy ones.
