Is it permissible to ask about the future by touching a stone?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Near my village there is a small Mazar. Outside of the Mazar, one stone is kept for breaking coconuts. By putting hand on that stone everybody even me too ask questions about future. Did I do shirk or not? Please let me known.

It is shirk and Hindu practice to put one’s hand on the said stone and question about future. It is unlawful and haram totally. If you have done then you should do true taubah and istighfar and should avoid this practice in future completely.

Allah knows Best!
