Is it permissible in Islam to change one’s name with parental permission?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
(1) My parents named me as Rasel Ahmed. But when I become 20 years old I felt that this name is not good. Now I want to change my name. Is it permissible in Islam to accept a new name with the permission of my parents?
(2) What is the ruling of changing of name?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 194/693/SD=7/1438)

You may keep the name Rasel Ahmed but since it does not have good meaning hence if you want to keep some other name then you may do so. It is better if you choose a name among the names of the Prophets and Sahabah, for example, Musa, Isa, Dawood, Muhammad, Abu Bakr, Umar, Usman, Ali, Huzaifah, etc.
