Does a working partner’s wrongdoings affect the capital partner’s capital?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I am interested to invest in private businesses as a capital partner. And if the working partner does wrong things like bribing, not giving correct quality, cheating customers, etc. Is it sinful on my part to invest in that business because of his wrong deeds?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 161/150/SN=3/1438)

It is totally unlawful and haram to accept bribe. Likewise, cheating people and not providing original quality to them is also unlawful. And after knowing that so and so person adopts such unlawful ways in the business yet starting business with him in partnership is helping in unlawful  task which is not lawful as per the Shari’ah. Hence you must not invest with such a person in the business; otherwise you shall also be involved in sin with him.
