How to return in-law’s wedding gift, setting anti-dowry example?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I want to know about the jewellery return to my father-in-law. He gives this to his daughter at the time of marriage. We did not ask him for any dowry even not for a single penny. Sir need your advice to return this all jewelry. How to give back this? I want to set an example for my family and in my area.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 853/868/L=08/1437)

When the father has given the jewelry to his daughter without demand then there is no need to return them. Furthermore when the girl (your wife) is the owner of the jewellery, then she only has the right to return it, you have no right to return it.
