Is it halal to use the profit of 300 from renting out our shop to another person?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Our masjid has around 5 to 6 shops which has been given on rent, my father also had taken one shop on rent, we used to do laundry business in that shop. Our laundry business was looked by our uncle, later on he died and we stopped that business. After sometime we gave that shop on rent. The masjid committee said that if you are giving it on rent than you will have to pay extra for which we agreed. Now my question is earlier when shop was run by us we used to pay say 500 to masjid as rent. Now since we have given it on rent to another person we pay 700 to masjid ie 200 extra. The amount we take as rent from our tenant is 1000. I want to know that the profit of 300 which we are getting after paying masjid rent , whether it is halal or not, and can we use this money or not.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 297/297/M=04/1437)

If you have got some repairing work done in the rented shop with your own money and added value to the shop, then it is allowable to take extra rent from other tenant in view of the new work, but it is not better, you should give all the rent to the mosque committee in the interest of the mosque and the committee should give it to such a person who gives more rent to the mosque.

Allah knows Best!
