Haram tuition fees from a student: permissible for a teacher?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
A teacher takes tuition for a student and student gives tuition fees from only haram money. So the fees is halal or haram for the teacher? If the teacher knows that the student is giving fees only from haram money ,then the fees will be haram or halal for the teacher? Is the student doing any gunah (sin) by giving only haram money? Is there any gunah on teacher? Please give hawala of Hadith and Quran .Please explain your answer.

(Fatwa: 891/891/SD=01/1437)

If it is certain that the student pays his fees from haram money and the teacher knows it then it is not lawful for him to take the fees from haram money. The student would be sinful due to paying from haram money. The student should pay his fees from halal money. It is recorded in Fatwa Mahmoodia: “It is not lawful for an imam or teacher to accept money about which he is sure that it is from the income of bribe or interest.” (Mahmoodia: 18/443, Bab al-Maal al-Haram O Masrifa, pub. Darul Ifta Jamia Farooqia, Karachi)
