Does writing “talaq” on paper without witness dissolve marriage if couple reunites after 5 months?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I need to ask the question regarding talaq. If someone writes word of talaq to his wife one time only (on an ordinary paper without any witness) and then they got separated. But they meet after five months and decide to live together because of their kids. Now in this situation, what will be the status of their previous marriage contract? Is marriage dissolved? If yes then what is the remedy?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the question mentioned above when the husband has written one talaq then one talaq took place. If the wife has experienced three menstruation cycles from the time of talaq then her iddah is over. If they want to live together then they may do so with a fresh nikah.

Allah knows Best!
