Can I take a debt from someone whose income is doubtful or is from haram sources?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I took a loan from someone who is a government employee and I know that his income is not entirely halal. Moreover when I took the loan he borrowed some money from some other people and gave to me. The total amount that he loaned me included some of his income and some that he borrowed from other people. The entire loan is interest free. That is why I took it. But I have some doubts. Therefore, I want to know is such a loan permissible or halal. If haram in which cases we can take it?

Be not suspicious. When he is a government employee and there is no doubt in his employment then there is no harm in taking debt from him. However, if his total income or most of the income is received from illegitimate source then it is not correct to take debt from him.
