How should we use the money found in some copies during UP Board Examination evaluation?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I am teacher of intermediate college. I have to do duty on the UP Board Examination to evaluate the copy. There are rupees kept in some copies. I want to know how we use this money.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 1/9/N=01/1436)

The said money is haram for the examiner. The money is kept with the intention of bribe in order to avail high marks against his/her merit. According to Islam it is haram to take and give bribe. It is mentioned in the Hadith:
لعن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم الراشي والمرتشي (مشكوة شريف ص 326 بحواله سنن ابوداؤد وغيره)
It is necessary to return the money to its owner. If it is not possible then it should be given to a poor. It should not be used in one’s personal use.

Allah knows Best!
