Can Quran be recited during menses?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I became Muslim a few years ago, but every month when my haidh comes I forget what I am learning. Is there a Shari’ way for me to recite Qur’an (without touching the Qur’an itself) for the sake of learning and not forgetting during my haidh? One sister told me I could follow the Maliki school just for this one issue since it is a huge problem for me (my haidh lasts so long I must make ghusl on the 10th day).

It is not lawful to recite the Quran (even without touching) during menses, as well as it is not right to act upon any other maslak (school) in such cases. You can manage to recite in the remaining 20 days that may make up the ten days of menses.
