Why did the 12 disciples risk their lives to promote Jesus’ return after they had run away when he was crucified?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Muslims believe that Jesus wasn’t resurrected but he died. If he did die, what his disciples were doing when he was put on cross n he died. Then ask after their answer. If they said the 12 disciples ran away or whatever one or two stood to watch. You ask them the next question then WHY these 12 disciples put their own life at risk to promote the return of Christ. When they are the ones who ran away while he was dying why fight for something which they knew they will get killed for! They didn’t want any part of Jesus but they were scared to get killed so they ran away and hid now after all is said and done.
Why after the 3rd day they went out preaching about Jesus return, will someone who feared death go again out to the open to die like will someone who believes is true is the one who will be willing to die that is what I want to know if for example by Gods miracle I get some answer tonight, let us say an angle comes to me. Do not you think I will do everything I can.
To get it proved out to the world.

What you wrote it is not the belief of Muslims. Muslims believe about Hadhrat Isa (عليه السلام) that neither the Jews killed him nor crucified him but Allah lifted him towards Himself. Again he shall descend before qiyamah and shall live for some time and then shall die his natural death, and shall be buried.
It is the concept of Jews and Christians that he was crucified. The holy Quran strongly refutes this concept:
وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَـكِن شُبِّهَ لَهُمْ [النساء : 157]
For details: see Ma’ariful Quran by Mufti Muhammad Shafee Sahib (RA).
