Is it permissible to take commission from Zakat money?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
If taking commission on zakah money, halal as you see many Maulana come to collect zakah, fitrah and sadaqah money from all over India to Gujarat for various Darul Ulooms. They collect our money and the respective madrasa gives them commission from this zakah money. Please answer if it is halal or bidat etc?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 215/169/D=01/1435)

It is unlawful to collect zakah money on commission. Also it is not lawful to give the bonus or salary from zakah to the person who is collecting money on behalf of the madrasa. Rather the salary or bonus should be given to the safeer from the common fund of the madrasa. The safeer should be hired on salary.
