Is Quran-based treatment allowed in Islam for mental illness?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
My cousin’s wife is in treatment for mental problem. She is under treatment since 4 years. Position is not getting improved nor she is in a position to look the needs of her 2 small children. Now we heard that there is Quran based treatment for such kind of diseases. Kindly let me know early whether this type of treatments is allowed in the religion or will it lead to shirk?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 91/91/M=02/1435)

It is lawful to get treatment from the verses of the Quran provided one should not have the belief that the Quran itself is effective, rather should adopt it as means (sabab) and should not use it a way that causes its desecration.
