When giving sadqa, what is considered a valid donation?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
In my childhood, my uncle gave me some money to be used in sadqa, which I used for my personal use. Later, when it comes to my mind, I give the sadqa again. Is the sadqa valid? And will the gunah still left on me?

(1-2) The sadaqah was valid and done. You repaid the amount which was due on you because of personally using the sadaqah amount, thus it was paid. But since breaching the trust (khiyanat) is unlawful and major sin, so if you have not yet done istighfar sincerely from the sin, then you should do it now. May Allah accept your taubah!
