Should we do Zuhar or Jumuah namaz if college doesn’t allow us to go to the nearby masjid?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Our friend is studying in an engineering college which is 6km outside the Vijayawada city. A masjid nearer to college about 1km but college management does not give permission to go outside. We are already doing Jumuah prayer in the college. We are doing right or wrong. We do zuhar namaz or we do jumuah namaz. Please, tell what we should have to do.

If this college falls in the boundary of Vijayawada, then performing Jumuah salah in the college will be valid. But, if it is not in the boundary of the city rather in a village, then Jumuah will not be valid therein and you should perform Zuhr with jamat.
In order to know whether it falls in the boundary of the city, you should consult any nearby alim or mufti graduated from Darul Uloom Deoband, he may tell you after survey whether the college is in the boundary of the city or not. Or he will contact us after making a survey.
A mosque is not necessary for performing Jumuah salah, but it is necessary that the place is either a city, outskirts of a city or big village. It is mentioned in details in Fatawa Shami.

Allah knows Best!
