Is it legal to get married without the permission of one’s parents in other castes?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Almost 6 years back, I promised to my college friend that I will marry her and at that point of time I was not living with my parents but soon after I disclosed to my parents but they are against specially my father and only reason that they are giving is that she is Ansari which is lower cast in society but I am not able to understand this lower-upper cast concept since it is nowhere mentioned in the Quran. Since, I have also 5 sisters who are yet to get married and my parents are also giving reason is that once I will marry a girl who is Ansari then it would be difficult in society for the marriage of my 5 sisters. I am in big trouble as I really do not want to violate my promise and on the other hand I do not want to leave my parents because I love them the most. Please suggest, If I can leave my parents and sisters with all financial support from outside home and get married with the girl OR any other way forward to sort this?

If your parents are not ready to get you married with that girl, then you should obey your parents and do not go ahead with nikah without their permission. There is no good in marrying without the consent of parents. However, marrying in other caste is lawful as per the Shariah, provided you do not abandon your parents.
