What is the meaning of “Eram” & is it permissible to use it according to Quran & Hadith?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I have a daughter by name “SYEDA ERAM FATHIMA”, I was told by many people that Eram is not a good Name. Please let me know the meaning of Eram and can we use this name according to Holy Quran and Hadith.

Iram or Eram was the paradise built by Shaddad, it is metaphorically applied to Jannah as well. As per this metaphorical meaning, the name is alright. But this does not seem to be good from other point as this was the name of the forefather of ‘Aad tribe to whom a branch of ‘Aad is attributed and ‘Aad people are among those nations which were punished by Allah. Therefore, many people object to this name. Thus it seems better to change Eram to a better name.
